When the kids grandma gave them the Berenstain Bears Holiday Cookbook for Christmas, they were super pumped. All the recipes look pretty easy, but they wanted to try the Bear-y Red Smoothie first. So gear up… Today, we’re delving into the world healthy smoothies created by non other than brother and sister bear themselves. This recipe comes straight from the Berenstain Bears’ Holiday Cookbook, so if you don’t like it, it isn’t our fault. DISCLAIMER: We are not affiliated with this cookbook in anyway. In fact, Mike Berenstain and his bears would probably stay as far away from our videos and website as possible if he knew it was us cooking up his recipes. That being said, here we go….
The Cookbook
Here is the cookbook they used to make this recipe.
It is pretty cute with a lot of recipes themed to American Holidays. This one for valentines day (hence the hearts in the picture.) They are all really simple, so perfect for kids who are just discovering the kitchen.
What You’ll Need:
- Strawberries: About a cup of strawberries either fresh or frozen.
- Raspberries: A cup of ripe raspberries fresh or frozen
- Banana: One ripe banana for natural sweetness and creaminess.
- Yogurt: Vanilla works the best, but I bet most fruit yogurts would be great too.
- Orange Juice: Give it a little extra flavor and tartness.
- Ice: Only if using fresh fruit.
Let’s do this
Step 1: Put it in
Add all the ingredients into a blender one at a time
Step 2: Blend Away
- Secure the lid on your blender and start blending on low. Blend until everything is smooth and creamy. If it’s too thick, add a little water and blend again.
Step 7: Pour and Enjoy!
- Pour your Red Bear-y Smoothie into a glass, ENJOY! Don’t forget a fun straw or a colorful umbrella for that extra flair!
Why They Loved the Red Bear-y Smoothie:
Easy to Make: 2 Literally two steps (minus peeling the banana).
Healthy: Packed with berries, banana, and yogurt, it’s a treat that’s actually good for you.
Easy to Customize: You can switch up the fruits or adjust the sweetness to make it just the way you like it.
So there you have it, The Berenstain Bears’ Red Bear-y Smoothie is a healthy treat that’s perfect for breakfast, a snack, or any time you’re craving something sweet.
