Hola Senores and Senoras,
Welcome to Spain, where the bulls run, the dancers dance, the sherry flows, the food comes in small portions, and the unemployment rate is 30 percent. Whoa!, Good thing we are learning to cook and not trying to find a job.
Located in the southern part of Europe, Spain is known for many things.
Ole!
Despite what the outfit says, this guy fights bulls. Spain is extremely well known for its bullfighting. A Matador (the man in the funny outfit) waves his red or yellow cape in front of the bull as it charges. This happens over and over again until the either the Matador or the bull wins. But the bull really never wins…. On a good day, the Matador doesn’t get impaled with bullhorns and the crowd cheers and throws flowers. On a bad day, the Matador ends up in the hospital. Ouch. That would hurt! Not sure which is crazier, the outfit or the job.
Spain is also known for its Flamenco. This beautiful dance has women who dress up in big colorful dresses and scarves. They use fans and clap their hands to a guitar and dance all around.
